Alpine Touring or Telemark bindings are needed for back country travel on skis. There are various makes and models of back country touring bindings on the market; we recommend the use of releasable models. In order to get the most out of your trip, be familiar with your equipment. Check to make sure it is in good repair and that your group coordinates some sort of repair/spare set up.
We recommend a split board style snowboard for backcountry touring. If you are using this type of gear, it may be beneficial to incorporate some sort of a skinning crampon. If using snowshoes be prepared and in good physical condition. Collapsible poles are a must.
A compact metal blade is recommended.

All guests at Ice Creek Lodge will run through an avalanche scenario and individual beacon practice prior to touring on the day of arrival.
Please be sure it is in good working condition.
They should be in good condition with clean adhesive, sized to fit your skis. Avoid using skins that are too skinny for your fat skis as it can become more strenuous.
