Who are we?

Ice Creek Lodge is a family run backcountry lodge paradise operating in Valhalla Provincial Park, British Columbia. We have different adventure options for all 4 seasons of the year. Our base of operations is in the small city of Slocan with our cozy timber frame lodge located high in the mountains above perched just below tree line at 1900m. We offer a great refuge in our remote winter village and an incredible base for summer adventurers of all types.

Our Mountain Village is located just below Tree Line

This allows our guests to enjoy a great flow to their day’s objectives in the backcountry. Skin up 20 min, or for 2-3 hours or drop in right out the door, how about a warm lunch and a thirst quencher between runs on days spent close to home shredding glades and pillows above or below the lodge. Some folks like to hang by the fire a little earlier while others go for another run or two. Maybe your the kind of group that wants to travel wide or hammer 10,000′ days.

The options you’ll have to explore different areas in Valhalla Provincial Park while backcountry skiing and snowboarding at Ice Creek Lodge are truly a bucket list opportunity.

Cozy, Functional and Built with our own Hands.

Built by Mountain People for Mountain People. We started building in 2002 with more time than money and lots of friends. Today, thankfully we still have lots of friends, a little less time and enough money to style the place out a bit. Our family of builders include Local Timber Framers, Metal and Masonry Artists and Powder slaves.

The Ice Creek Village now consists of a 1450sq’ Main Lodge, Sauna, Wood shed/Ski shop, 3 bay Outhouse and a very comfortable 500sq’ Staff cabin. We are all very proud of what we have created together and that we get to share it with our family, friends and guests old and new.

More on Winter Packages
I have been doing hut trips in BC for 14 years and Ice Creek Lodge takes the cake. The best “home zone” skiing I have seen and with the park only one saddle away the touring is mindblowing. Russell and Courtney are top notch and keep the lodge humming like a well-oiled machine.

Ice Creek accesses some of the best big mountain terrain in the province, right out the front door.

Mitchell Scott - Editor , Kootenay Mountain Culture Magazine
This lodge is well situated with much of its terrain being on north facing slopes which is great for maintaining snow quality. We had a great week of backcountry skiing, in scenic mountainous terrain, with many long (thigh burning) descents on north facing slopes.
Fred Thiessen, Kamloops, BC
Simply put, I love Ice Creek Lodge. It’s a deeply soulful place. The lodge is comfortable without being fussy and has a handmade feel to it, from the steel work throughout to the concrete kitchen counter – a labor of love in the best sense of the word. The terrain is world class: stunning couloirs, dreamy bowls, sporty trees – everything you could ask for. And the snow is consistently excellent – quintessential BC pow. Go!
