I have been doing hut trips in BC for 14 years and Ice Creek Lodge takes the cake. The best “home zone” skiing I have seen and with the park only one saddle away the touring is mindblowing. Russell and Courtney are top notch and keep the lodge humming like a well-oiled machine.
Ice Creek accesses some of the best big mountain terrain in the province, right out the front door.
This lodge is well situated with much of its terrain being on north facing slopes which is great for maintaining snow quality. We had a great week of backcountry skiing, in scenic mountainous terrain, with many long (thigh burning) descents on north facing slopes.
Simply put, I love Ice Creek Lodge. It’s a deeply soulful place. The lodge is comfortable without being fussy and has a handmade feel to it, from the steel work throughout to the concrete kitchen counter – a labor of love in the best sense of the word. The terrain is world class: stunning couloirs, dreamy bowls, sporty trees – everything you could ask for. And the snow is consistently excellent – quintessential BC pow. Go!
